Safety rules

Effective from 19 October 2026

Karting is a motorsport. To keep every race exciting and safe, every driver must follow these rules and the instructor’s directions.

Before you race

  • The full-size Sodi RT8 kart is for drivers from 150 cm; the Sodi LR5 kids’ kart is for children from 125 to 150 cm (age 7+).
  • Helmet and balaclava are mandatory and provided on site.
  • Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothing. Remove scarves, long coats and loose accessories; tie long hair and tuck it under the helmet.
  • No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Staff may refuse a session if they have doubts about a driver’s condition.
  • If you are pregnant, have back, neck or heart problems or other health conditions, consult a doctor before racing and tell our staff.
  • Every session starts with a safety briefing - attendance is mandatory.

On track

  • Keep both hands on the wheel and your feet on the pedals.
  • No deliberate bumping, blocking or brake-checking.
  • If your kart stops or spins, stay seated, raise your hand and wait for the marshal. Never get out on the track.
  • Drive slowly in the pit lane and stop only where indicated.
  • Leave the kart only once it has fully stopped and the engine is off.

Flags

Flag Meaning
Green Start, or the track is clear
Yellow Caution, hazard on track - slow down, no overtaking
Blue A faster driver is behind you - let them pass
Red Session stopped - drive slowly to the pits
Black Come into the pits when the marshal tells you
Chequered End of the session - one slow lap, then into the pits

Children and teenagers

  • Under-18s drive only with consent from a parent or legal guardian.
  • An adult must stay at Kartinga nams during children’s sessions.
Staff may stop a session if a driver endangers themselves or others. These rules complement the briefing; ask your instructor if anything is unclear.
