What is SWS

One ranking. 70 countries. Your track.

Sodi World Series is a racing system for amateurs, created by Sodikart in 2009. You don't need your own kart, team or licence: a free SWS account and a driver ID are enough. Every approved SWS race earns points, which show up straight away in the national and world ranking. Kartinga nams XL Rīga has been an official SWS track in Latvia since 2019.

FAQ

SWS in Riga: answers

Do I need a licence for SWS races?

No. SWS is for amateurs: a free account on sodiwseries.com and a driver ID are enough. No licence or medical certificate needed.

From what age can I race SWS?

Junior Cup is for drivers aged 7 to 14 on kids' karts. Sprint Cup is from age 15. Here, kids drive from 125 cm and adults from 150 cm.

How are SWS points counted?

Points depend on your position and the number of entrants: the bigger the grid, the more points. Your best results of the year count, and the ranking updates after every approved race.

Why am I weighed before the start?

To keep it fair. Ballast is added to lighter drivers' karts up to a common minimum weight, so driving decides, not kilograms.

Can I race with friends?

Yes. Endurance Cup is a team format for 2 to 10 drivers with driver changes. Perfect for a team of friends or colleagues.

How much does an SWS round cost?

The entry fee depends on the round format. Ask the front desk for the exact price and next date: +371 27 545 555. Practice on the Sodi RT8 starts at €16 for 10 minutes.

Where are SWS races held in Riga?

At Kartinga nams XL Rīga, Ūdens iela 23, Pārdaugava. An indoor track about 5 minutes from the Old Town, first hour of parking free.
